I just thought this image of the New Jersey Designer Showhouse had such a fun holiday color scheme! Designed by Barbara Ostrem, it took 2 men 5o hours to complete the grosgrain ribbon fretwork pattern on the walls .That's alot of gift wrap! But the effect is wonderful, don't you think?

Wow! That's grosgrain ribbon??? A lot of work but very striking!
So simple - and SO labour intensive (read expensive). Love it - love the type of client more that can get their head round it and would be up for it!
I absolutely love this! What a genius idea. That treatment would really define a room. I will have to save this photo and maybe use it one day...Thanks, Katie!
Hi Jennifer and HBOC!
I thought so too. I wonder if I take my time whether I could attempt this in my guest room? Hmmm. Regardless, It is going into my design files!
Whoa! This wall is amazing.
Wow, that looks great! And festive.
Oh my heavens. The most amazing thing I have ever seen done with ribbon. My heart is filled with envy. Thanks for the image.
Hi Anne!
You should do a painting! I think it would be wonderful! :)
Hello to you all Brilliant, Melissa and Mrs!
Isn't it a wonderful room?! I can't stop thinking about how to recreate it in my house!
Absolutely lovely and festive! You suppose it will remain in place after the holidays???
Hello tea!
I don't suppose it will since it is a showhouse, but maybe the owners will love it enough to keep it!
Amazing! And I agree totally with the house of beauty and culture about loving the client who would be up for it!
damn! that's great. i would never have guessed grosgrain ribbon!
You are right It does look like holidays
Two of my favorite things -- fretwork and grosgrain :)

I want that painting!!
I can't even begin to imagine the simple feat of measuring before installing the ribbon. I think that gorgeous wall will go down in history. The painting is great, also.
Just came upon this. GORGEOUS. I will certainly keep this one in the files. Would be beautiful in a current clients master of blues and creams...I'll see what she thinks.
