Well, it is really up!
Patricia Dobashi from 1st Dibs was so kind to ask if I would like to be profiled for their wonderful site.......who, me?!? Be on a website that I have admired and looked at for inspiration since it began? Absolutely!
I was put in touch with Marcia Sherrill, who was so very fun and kind. (Marcia has a profile on 1st dibs as well...check it out here!) She has done such a nice profile it makes me blush. (To get there directly go here. )I just wanted to extend a heartfelt "thank you" to everyone at 1st Dibs who made this such a great experience.
And if you have not already, do take the time to read all of the really fantastic articles on their site. Especially the one about Michael Bruno, of course!
Thanks again 1st Dibs! It has been a complete pleasure.

Congratulations, Katie! I only avoid 1stdibs because it's so bad for my wallet, heh heh! But I enjoy reading the special features. :)
I enjoyed reading your bio on 1st Dibs and seeing your childhood home. I know I have driven by it....so familiar. I am the "pain of Pasadena" for driving so slowly as I crane my neck and take photos of favorite Curb Appeal.
One of my 4 girls grad. from UC Santa Barbara. I loved to visit her and the area ofcourse. Congrats on you lovely write-up and thanks for sharing with us all. Ginny

Thanks for your gracious comments on my last posting. I have found that I do indeed enjoy writing more than I realized I would, so it is gratifying to know there are those out there in the ether who appreciate it somewhat!

Oh, the article was grand! I love how Cooper is not even bothered by all of the lights and attention! Congrats and your home looks more lovely than ever!
Wow...I am overwhelmed! Thank you all so very much for all of your very kind and supportive words. It truly means so much to me. When I started this blog, I wanted to connect with others that love the design world as much as I do: art, antiques, architecture....all of it! I think when one has an appreciation for these things, it has a way of broadening horizons, of appreciating the world and the people who can create.
It makes me very happy to be a part, however small of such a wonderful community. I learn so much from all of you and laugh alot too! So thank you all !
Katie
Yea, Katie! Congratulations (and you look soooo beautiful)!

As a fan of your blog,I think it was the kitchen renovation or the halloween party that hooked me. I am totally coming back as you in my next life. That article, the photos and your hair all look gorgeous! Thrilled for you!
Katie, It is a very good profile, and I too love to put a face to a blogger. It just makes it more meaningful, Congratulations! You are in the elite group with Mrs. Blandings (KC, where I hail from) on 1st dibs!
congratulations! really lovely piece!
Congratulations! What lovely recognition of your talents. You totally deserve it.
Congratulations! Just took a quick peek at the profile, will definitely finish reading the rest later this afternoon. BTW, it's great that you're sharing the remodeling of your home with the world. I've always wondered which way was best, to buy an original Victorian and update, or have something custom built. Your experiences have helped a lot in filling out that pro's and con's list.
Congratulations Katie!!!!! You are just as beautiful as your Blog. It is good to know a little more about your background.
Congrats! Wonderful profile. You and your home looked just beautiful.
Congratulations Katie - so fantastic!!

seriously, those Dove chocolate wrappers have the best little messages inside.
Ohhh Congratulations!! That's sooo good, and well deserved! :-) Keep up the wonderful work :-)
Oh, gorgeous you! The Beach Boys definitely had you in mind when they wrote California Girls.
The interview is wonderful. What an absolute treat for all of us to read (and see!) more about you, your beautiful family and home - and your love affair with California.
(Your Dad was an aerospace engineer in the 60s? So cool.)
eeek! This is beyond fabulous. Mabrouk, Katie, as we say here in Morocco. I am clicking over *immediately*
As one of our favorite places to visit, Edward and I have added you to our blog roll! Happy weekend!
It really looks wonderful! Very nice.
Hi Katie! Thank you for visiting my blog and for your nice comment! I've enjoyed reading some of your posts and think you have a very lovely blog. I'll be adding you to my link list and will be back to see more!
Katie,
From the moment I first saw your blog, and saw that KITCHEN... I knew what a talent you were. I usually find myself looking at your blog, and nodding my head in agreement, because I wouldn't change a thing. You richly deserve the spotlight. All your blogging friends are thrilled for you!
Are you KIDDING ME? Your Dad was on the Gemini & Apollo programs? Do you have any idea what kind of space nut I am?
Lastly, you are also quite beautiful. Loved seeing the great shots of the Kitchen and Living room. Feature more of your own house on Katiedid.
Great going!
I just want to say again, Thanks so much to everyone! I feel very lucky. I have so much fun with this blog, and I am just so happy that you all are finding it worth a visit every now and again. It keeps me going! I am having a blast working on the house, and looking around for new stuff in Nor Cal to share...so I hope you all will keep in visiting! And if there is anything you would like to see more of, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Just a note regarding my Dad: he worked as a Project Managing Engineer for North American Rockwell ( when it was called that back then) and they tested different components of the Apollo and Gemini spacecraft and the B-1 bomber. He couldn't tell us much, but sometimes he had some funny stories....like the time they were shooting frozen bees to test the windshields of the bombers...as soon as the bee farmer caught wind of what they were doing to his bees, he refused to sell them anymore. Can't say as I blame him!
Anyway...thanks again and I will keep plugging away!
Wow!! What a great tribute to a GREAT blog! The pix were outstanding...congrats!!
How totally cool is that! What a great spread. You're house is absolutely gorgeous - I am humbled! They did a great job with your profile - but of course they had a great subject to work with!
