Making Lemonade

I know that it is winter. I know it is cold and foggy outside, and there were ice patches on our back deck this morning. I know that our family is going to be facing some big challenges this year, just as many others are. Sacramento has had an economy which was very dependent on the building industry. We all know how that is going right now. The headlines are bleak at best.

But, my daughter asked me if she could make lemonade today. And I thought to myself, "why not?!" The foggy day has cleared to a crystal blue sky, and I saw the first blooms open on my flowering quince bush out in the garden.

I want to thank everyone for your patience while I collect myself this week. I am in the middle of making a bunch more lemonade.

Katie — I keep lemonade in the freezer year round and this is Wisconsin. Since we're going to have high temps in the single digits this week, I'll be drinking hot lemonade with honey!

Big hugs your way, Katie. We're holding our breath down here, as well. Lemonade sounds perfect. YAY for lemon trees, blue skies and first blooms - may they all be a sign of good things to come.

Take your time. We'll just sit out here on the porch and visit. Let us know if you need anything.

I think there are a lot of us squeezing the heck out of those lemons these days. Needless to say, being a designer myself, I do know how a slow down in the building industry effects us all. My very best thoughts your way this week!!

Katie I'll be thinking of you as you're making lemonade! I think many of us are feeling that way right now, post-holiday and trying to catch up. xo

This can be a tough time of year- with so much excitement behind us.
My Mother use to say "be still"- and she didn't mean "be quiet". Take some time to just rest easy- be still.

I'll drink fresh squeezed lemonade anytime!! I noticed your Dove Quote in your "profile"...Everyone "loves to quote the quotes" on the inside of the Dove Promises. I get as excited reading them as I did finding Cracker Jack prizes when I was a kid. Visit my blog for the latest Dove Chocolate News.
