The Powder Room never seemed finished. I had been torn. Wallpaper or Paint. I had no reason to hurry the decision. But now we have the Home Tour looming less than six weeks away.
Paint it is. Benjamin Moore. White Rain. 708.
Nothing like a crowd of people coming over to get things going.
I am thinking of gold leafing the ceiling.
Now for the Guest Room.
HAPPY WEEKEND

Ooooo . . . lookin' lovely !
try Phillip Jefferies Gold Leaf Wallpaper for the ceiling. It's kinda frightfully expensive, but you'll most likely only need a roll or two.
and, yes, the walls look amazing.
That looks beautiful. I love the color and that mirror is fabulous. A gilded ceiling sounds terrific but if you don't get to it before the home show, the bathroom would still look terrific without it. Thanks for sharing your progress.
I love your choice of paint color! It works so well with the gilded mirror, very old-world. I'm sure your home will be stunning for the tour!
I'm so glad you posted more pictures of your bathroom. I have been wanting to see a close up of that mirror. Would you share where you got it?
Also, I stopped by my local home depot today and found the lamps you used in your daughters room. I'm thinking I'm going to have to have one of those. My husband and I are building a house and my daughter is 9 and she really liked your daughters room. I have a chandelier picked out from PB Kids for her room but I was wandering what you would use?
Thanks,
Sherry
What a lovely color! My children's bathroom is still builder's white and this might be just the perfect color!
Your powder room looks beautiful!
Love the beachy colour!
This is just lovely. I am so glad to have found your blog. The flowers, the taps, the demi-lune, the mirror, the linen, and that marble! Oh, I could go on and on. Funny what inviting a few folks over will do! It's just lovely!

Katie,
The powder room looks great....nothing like an event to get those projects done. I need an event!
I liked the soft palette in the room - It is looking good - I wish I could be part of that house tour.
what a beautiful room - I esp. love the mirror AND that cabinet! OMG - only in a old house would you find that - so beautiful! and your toilet! I want that one so badly with the wood top. I might just have to break down and get one. they are so romantic looking - yes - a romantic toilet! only a designer would say that!
Great paint colour choice - looks terrific!

Now that must be my problem, I need to be on some home show tour for motivational force.

That looks GORGEOUS!
Great selection of furnture...love the mirror over the vanity.
Oh i love it! but i ESPECIALLY love the idea of gold leafing your ceiling! YES!!! I wanna see! powder blue and gold is HOT!
Katie - it looks terrific (I remember the floor going in- we do go way back) especially the cabinet reflected in the mirror. Love the gold leaf idea - not that you don't have anything else to do.
Oooo what a gorgeous color, Katie! I'm so glad that you chose paint! The gold ceiling will be beautiful, I can't wait to see. I LOVE your sink/table and the tiles on the floor - that wall color sure makes the blue in them pop!
Really, really, lovely!

Looks really beautiful!
Wow. That looks so amazing.
Didn't you say you got the mirror from a friend? Do you know where she got it?
I loved your idea for the sink. I hope you do a virtual tour for us when you're done.
wow it looks so great I love the mirror!!
Great color! :)
Love it.
I just renovated by master bath (finished at 2pm CHRISTMAS EVE, you are too right about pressure) and used the same marble floor. Every morning I look down at it and thank God my husband decided to get me something other than the annual x-mas sweater this year.
Its looking great, and I love the idea of gold-leafing the ceiling!
Hi All!
Thank you so much for all of the kind words and encouragement!
To answer a few questions:
Sherry, the mirror is something I received from a friend who was moving and couldn't take it with her. WHne she comes to visit, she alway gets a kick out of seeing her mirror here.
I have seen the mirror somewhere online, and I will try and find that source for those of you that are interested!
Joni! Thanks! The cupboard is actually new, and I love that you thought it was old, cuz that is what I was going for.;) The whole space used to be our 10x10 tiny kitchen with three doors and no counters.
Thanks Scot! I will look up that Phillip Jefferies paper. They have great wallpaper!
Again Thanks everyone. :)
Beautiful room and color, Katie!
Is that the Rothbury faucet from Moen?
How elegant! Love your home. Can you tell me where you found your lighting above your kitchen island? Thank you.
The Ben Moore color is beautiful and soft- everything looks great- back to the gilded ceiling later, the home tour inches closer. Good Luck- You will have everyone counting the days. G.
Hi LIMOM!
The Faucet is from Kohler: "pinstripe"
Hi Anon-
THe Kitchen Island pendants are from Roost. I purchased through Lumens in Sacramento. I am not sure if they are still available.
FAB blog..just FAB!
I love it too. So pretty. Where did you find those sconces? Love them.
Thanks,
Deb
