I saw this in the Los Angeles Times, here.
It looks like Mae Brunken is going to be on my radar from now on. You can tell just by looking at her: talented.
She bought this 1927 Spanish Colonial house in Beachwood Canyon, and decided to fix 'er up a little.
Nice, huh?
I especially like the bathroom! Such drama.
(Sorry about the lack of verbage....but I am off to the dentist....joy.)

I was trying to 'find' a word to sum the post up and you got it perfect...drama. She has great flair and the mediterrean and desert/middle eastern blend is fun. The gold camel on the hearth is a hoot!
Stunning home- fun decor too!
She is so talented! I will definitely have to check out some more of her work! Thanks
Thanks for this post on Brunken- Love her style. She's on my radar now as well!
That bathroom is dreamy!
There is a real flair to the designs. Especially the living room. Looks great.

I so love the pink bench with the clear legs!!!
I love her bold use of color. The interior makes sense with the exterior, they are in harmony with one another.
I lost consciousness there for a bit...simply lovely. Uber talented woman. Thanks for the fun!
So refreshing with the touches of pink in everyroom.
Well Katie, I am a tad surprised for once at your choice! Mae B's Hollywood house for me is terribly amatuerish and frought with cliches, and all those posters just have to go! Would like to see it again without them. I must agree with your praise of the bathroom, quite stunning and glamorous! I also admire the upper entry ceiling, quite beautifully rendered. The area rug below it? That's another story!
Hi all! And thanks for all of the comments. Always lively!
Hello Gaj. I think there are things to appreciate here (especially that bathroom!) I posted the rooms I liked the best. I do have to agree with you, I was not bowled over witht the movie posters. But if you check out her website, there are projects there that merit a look or two.
I love that first picture! The daybed, the silver, the turquoise... swoon!
Love the bench in the bedroom. Love it!
My husband has always wanted to move us out to South CA. For that house I would gladly become the Countess of LA County!
Seriously, that bathroom is amazing.
OMG....such beautiful curb appeal. Makes me drool.
Joanne
Indeed,a very talented woman!
I visited her website and yes I saw some beautiful images!!

Hello - loved this post. In fact, I love your whole blog. Thanks so much for sharing it & best wishes to you ....
I literally watched this movie again about a month ago and was studying this house, so it was awesome to see it "in person".
